Yesterday was Claire's 2 year appointment. She's in the 75% for weight, 90% for height and 97+% for head circumference. We know she's going to be a tall girl...5'10 1/2" if she doubles her height! Wow!

As for the rest of the exam, she didn't do so well. The doctor recommended books or toys to get her comfortable with doctor visits. She had suggested this before and we never invested in educational material... So far she's never had an ear infection or needed to go to the doctor other than her regular appointments so it's hard to get too worked up about it. Claire was obviously fearful of the painless instruments used for the exam. It was stressful for all of us!!! Please, God, don't let her get in some major accident that requires she need to see the doctor more than usual! And help us to learn how to help her reduce her doctor anxiety!

Elliot is 6 1/2 weeks old and weighs around 13 lbs. We took the liberty of weighing him at the doctor's office. He's growing fast and is a good eater!

The rain keeps coming. We had a break on Monday and then again yesterday. We had a nice visit from the birds since we refilled our bird feeders. For the first time ever, we had two red-winged blackbirds come to feed. I love their song (or call?) and whistle.

Tomorrow we're bringing the kids in to visit Brian's work. He's going back officially on Feb. 13th. It's been great having him home. Great for me, for the kids and for Brian too, I think... Real life will begin when he goes back. I'm curious to see how I'll do! Right now, even with Brian home, I feel like I've been living off coffee! Fortunately, the days are becoming longer and the daylight will help energize me...

Good thoughts, bad thoughts, personal thoughts...

Name:
Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States

I was a French teacher for four years, a life-long dream achieved. Now, I'm taking a serious break to raise a family. I go to a United Methodist Church regularly with my husband, daughter and son. For my future ideal job, I'd love to travel the world eating in great restaurants and write food reviews!!! Someday I'd like to live on the Oregon Coast and be a translator for French tourists! However, in the meantime I'm earning a substantial income with Jewels by Park Lane, subbing & Shaklee!
