Today is Claire's 14 month birthday! Wow! She has been changing so fast, especially in the language department. I still speak French to her so she's developed quite a little French vocabulary...train, bain, pain, banane, pomme, froid, chat, ballon...just to name a few. Of course, her comprehension is unbelievable.

One of her favorite activities right now is to have her daddy read to her, book after book after book, several times a day. It is so cute! I'm so glad he takes the time to pick her up on his lap and read to her!

This morning I decided to look on the web at houses for sale around where we live. We've promised to live in one place for five years because our dear family is tired of helping us move! (4 times in the first 2 years of marriage!) Houses are expensive, of course, so it'll be good to take that time to save up!

Last month I started my own Shaklee home-based business. I'm my own best customer so far, but things are moving along nicely. I hope to put Claire into the French-American School for a few years at least while she's young so I'm hoping to pay for it with my Shaklee income. Again, I have a couple years before that'll happen so plenty of time to build up my business. Thank you to my family and friends who have helped me get my business up and running! My sponsor and her sponsor have been great resources too!

In February I subbed way too much for my level of comfort so I only subbed two days total in March and that wiped me out. I'm realizing I don't miss teaching more and more each day. It's nice knowing I don't have to go in if I don't want and to be extra choosy about when and where I work. Claire & I can do our own mini-French lessons in a less structured environment.

Good thoughts, bad thoughts, personal thoughts...

Name:
Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States

I was a French teacher for four years, a life-long dream achieved. Now, I'm taking a serious break to raise a family. I go to a United Methodist Church regularly with my husband, daughter and son. For my future ideal job, I'd love to travel the world eating in great restaurants and write food reviews!!! Someday I'd like to live on the Oregon Coast and be a translator for French tourists! However, in the meantime I'm earning a substantial income with Jewels by Park Lane, subbing & Shaklee!
